The first specimen was lot 40180 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. Goldgulden, ND (ca. 1482-89). Hermannstadt Mint. PCGS MS-63. Mathias Corvinus (1458-90)." The second specimen was lot 54092 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $4,080. The catalog description[2] noted, "HUNGARY. Goldgulden, ND (1458-90). Hermannstadt Mint. Matthias I Corvinus. NGC MS-64. Obverse: St. Ladislaus standing facing, holding orb and battle axe; h-T across field; Reverse: The Madonna seated facing, holding Holy Infant. VERY SCARCE in this near-Gem quality, the strike boldly defined and displaying much luster in the recessed areas." Hungary was a major producer of gold coins in the late middle ages, perhaps because of her control of mines in Transylvania, and this type is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: Fr-22; Huszar-680; Pohl-K-21-2.
