Sincona sale 94, lot 2435

This specimen was lot 2435 in Sincona sale 94 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 900 CHF (about US$1,248 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"UNGARN Matthias Corvinus, 1458-1490. Goldgulden o. J. (1468-1469), Nagybanya. Städtische Münzstätte. Sehr schön. (kingdom of Hungary, Matthias Corvinus, 1458-90, undated goldgulden, Nagybánya mint, Very Fine.)"

The ducats or florins or goldgulden of Hungary are among the more common gold coins of the late middle ages. This type was struck with multiple mintmarks and assayers' arms.
