This specimen was lot 2905 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "HONGKONG, Victoria, 1842-1901. 5 Cents 1866, London. NGC MS62." This type was struck at the shortlived Hong Kong mint 1866-68 and at London and Heaton 1872-1901 and this date is listed as scarce. British coinage for Hong Kong ceased in 1997 when the island was returned to China.
Recorded mintage: 1,313,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 1.35 g, 0.800 fine silver, 15.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
