Honduras Alb27-1763r.jpg

This specimen was lot 1763 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it sold for $381.87. The catalog description[1] noted, "HONDURAS: BI 4 reales, 1851-T. Assayer G, NGC graded AU53, ex Holland Wallace Collection." Honduras issued various four reales 1849-57, starting at 17% silver (KM 20) and ending with a copper-lead alloy (KM 20e). Despite the low catalog value, none are common, especially in nice condition, as there was little incentive to hoard such debased coins.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: .100 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM-20a.
