Holland 1802 ducat Fr-318
This specimen was lot 57365 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Batavian Republic. Ducat, 1802. Utrecht Mint. PCGS Genuine--Cleaning, AU Details. Variety without star after "HOL"." This type is identical in every respect to the ducats struck by the province of Holland until 1792 but is an issue of the Batavian Republic, a puppet state of the French Republic. The Holland ducat without star (shown here, Fr-318, Dordrecht mint) was struck 1795-1805 and with star (Fr-318a, Enkhuizen mint) 1796-97 and 1800-02.
Recorded mintage: 630,455 with star and 2,861,825 without star for 1795-1805.
