This specimen was lot 33519 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $1,140. The catalog description[1] noted, "Holland. Provincial 3 Gulden 1800 MS64 ANACS. Absolutely magnificent toning, a stormy red and gold patina forming an iridescent coat to the otherwise fully lustrous planchet." This type was struck 1763-64, 1774, 1791-94 for the province of Holland. It is also KM 9.2 struck for the Batavian Republic. Issues after 1800 are catalogued as Dav-224.
Recorded mintage: 1,084,305 for 1795-1805.
