Holland 1774 ducaton Dav-1827
This specimen was lot 1157 in Jean Elsen sale 162 (Brussels, June 2025), where it sold for €240 (about US$333 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, HOLLAND, Provincie, AR dukaton (zilveren rijder), 1774. Vz/ Ridder te paard n.r. boven het gekroond provinciewapen. Kz/ Gekroond Generaliteitswapen gehouden door twee leeuwen. Deuk aan de rand. (Netherlands, province of Holland, silver ducaton of 1774. Obverse: mounted knight charges over the provincial arms; reverse: crowned arms of the Generality supported by two lions. Rim bump, Very Fine.)"
This was the largest silver coin and many subtypes exist. The SCWC notes that the regular issues from Holland run 1672-94, 1716-21 and 1734-93.
