This specimen was lot 1577 in Jean Elsen sale 164 (Brussels, March 2026), where it sold for €200 (about US$279 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ALLEMAGNE, HOHENHOLE-LANGENBURG, Comté, Philipp Ernst (1610-1629), AR 3 Kreuzer (Groschen), 1623, Kirchberg ou Langenburg. Au titre de Ferdinand II. D/ Écu couronné. R/ Aigle impériale couronnée, portant la valeur sur son buste, dans un gl. crucigère. Très rare. Flan légèrement voilé. Très Beau. (Germany, county of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, Philip Ernest, 1610-29, silver three kreuzer of 1623, Kirchberg or Langenburg mint, struck in the name of Ferdinand II. Obverse: crowned arms; reverse: crowned imperial eagle with an orb bearing the value on its breast. Very rare, slightly bent, Very Fine.)"

The county was raised to a principality in 1764 and mediatized to Württemberg in 1806. The dynasty's habit of dividing the inheritance created many collateral lines.
