Hesse-Darmstadt 1703 1/2 ducat Fr-1202
This specimen was lot 1928 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €1,000 (about US$1,392 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HESSEN, HESSEN-DARMSTADT, LANDGRAFSCHAFT, Ernst Ludwig, 1678-1739. 1/2 Dukat 1703, Darmstadt. GOLD. RR Gestopftes Loch, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt, Ernest Louis, 1678-1739, half ducat of 1703, Darmstadt mint. Rare, plugged hole, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This rare type was accompanied by a quarter ducat (KM 101), a single ducat (KM 100) and a double ducat (KM 106).
