This specimen was lot 75024 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hesse-Kassel. Silber Groschen, 1866. Kassel Mint. Friedrich Wilhelm. NGC MS-65." This type was struck 1851-66 in substantial quantities; the issue ended when Prussia annexed the state in 1866. One vereinsthaler was thirty of these coins.
