Künker sale 352, lot 1876

This specimen was lot 1876 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$3,062 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-CALENBERG-HANNOVER, AB 1815 KONIGREICH HANNOVER, Wilhelm IV. 1830-1837. 10 Taler 1837, B. GOLD. Vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Hannover, William IV, 1830-37, ten thaler of 1837. extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1836-37 for William IV. Another ten thaler (KM 175) was struck for his successor Ernst August in 1837 but is very rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
