Hamburg 1717-IR 1/2 thaler KM-346
This specimen was lot 5786 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €650 (about US$905 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HAMBURG, STADT, 1/2 Reichstaler 1717, auf die 200-Jahrfeier der Reformation. RR Henkelspur, sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion Tietjen + Co. 98, Hamburg 2007, Nr. 63 und der Slg. Günter Westphal, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 322, Osnabrück 2019, Nr. 418. (Germany, city of Hamburg, half thaler of 1717, on the bicentennial of the Reformation. Very rare, mount mark, very fine.)"
This rare commemorative was accompanied by KM 348, a half thaler featuring the bust of Martin Luther, and Dav-2281, a thaler.
