Haiti An 24 25 centimes
This specimen was lot 1332 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 35 (Winter Park, FL, May 2024), where it sold for $2,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "HAITI, 25 centimes, Boyer, An 24 (1827), large head of Boyer, NGC MS 63. Bold strike on an oversized flan with full rims, lustrous and choice, second highest grade in NGC census behind a pair of MS 64's." This type was struck 1827-28, 1830 and 1833 in Haiti during the rule of Jean Pierre Boyer (1776-1850), president of Haiti 1822-43. Like many Haitian coins of the period, it bears no Common Era date but only the revolutionary year "AN 25", counting from 1803, the year of independence from France.
