This specimen was lot 34233 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "Haiti: Republic 12 Centimes L'An 24 (1827) AU58 NGC, Showing only the lightest signs of rub atop the highpoints, the strike otherwise boldly rendered and fully lustrous." This type was struck 1827-29 in Haiti during the rule of Jean Pierre Boyer (1776-1850), president of Haiti 1822-43. Like many Haitian coins of the period, it bears no Common Era date but only the revolutionary year "AN 24", counting from 1803, the year of independence from France. It was accompanied by similar hundred, fifty and 25 centimes.
