SB121-24039r.jpg

This specimen was lot 24039 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "HAITI. 2 Centimes, 1894-A. Paris Mint. NGC MS-62 Brown. Mostly deep brown and lustrous, this great Mint State example offers some subtle blue hints as one approaches the peripheries." This type was struck 1886 and 1895 during a brief period of political stability in Haiti. All issues seem to have been struck at the Paris mint altho not all are mintmarked. The coin is the same weight and fineness as a contemporary French ten centimes.

Recorded mintage: 3,750,000.

Specification: 10 g, bronze.

Catalog reference: KM-49.
