Jean Elsen sale 145, lot 1687

This specimen was lot 1687 in Jean Elsen sale 145 (Brussels, September 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"HAINAUT, Comté, Philippe II (1555-1598), restauré, Cu liard, 1581, Mons. D/ B. cour. à g. R/ Ecu couronné. Rare. Beau à Très Beau. (county of Hainaut, Philip II, 1555-98, restored, copper liard of 1581, Mons mint. Obverse: crowned bust to left; reverse: crowned arms. Rare, Fine - Very Fine.)"

The mint at Mons was reopened in January 1581 and was definitely closed on February 12, 1587.
