The first specimen was lot 4940 in Goldberg sale 72 (Los Angeles, February 2013), where it sold for $155.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Guyana. 100 Dollars, 1976. 10th Anniversary of Independence. Arawak Indian. In original sealed cachet. Choice Brilliant Proof." The second specimen was lot 74254 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[2] noted, "GUYANA. 100 Dollars, 1966. Franklin Mint. CHOICE PROOF. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Independence. An exceptionally charming piece offered in gold, the present example demonstrates an attractive cameo like nature and beautiful design. Still sealed within the original Franklin Mint capsule and additionally boasting the plush presentation box." This is another Non-Circulating Legal Tender coin issued and marketed by the Franklin mint on behalf of Guyana before it withdrew from coinage operations in 1985. The low purity gold has caused many examples to acquire spotty toning.

Specification: 5.58 g, 0.500 fine gold, .089 troy oz AGW.
