The first specimen was lot 71432 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GUATEMALA. 1/2 Real, 1894. NGC MS-66. A bright and fully lustrous Gem, largely untoned and exhibiting great eye appeal." This type was struck 1894-97 and is common. The Heaton mint in England contributed more in 1894-95.

Recorded mintage: 619,000.

Specification: 1.50 g, 0.903 fine silver.
