Guatemala 1894 5 pesos rev Eliasberg 3063.jpg

This specimen was lot 3063 in the Eliasberg sale, where it sold, together with a ten pesos pattern, for $28,750. The catalog description[1] noted, "1894 pattern 5 pesos. Small head. PR-63 (NGC). Similar types as above. Choice deep yellow gold with satiny lustre and light reflectivity. Designs handsomely rendered and somewhat frosty. A companion piece to the previous lot, also known from a tiny mintage of just 10 pieces.
