Guatemala 1882-AE peso

This peso with the head of liberty was struck in Guatemala in 1882 and 1889. The 1882 shown here is scarce but the 1889 is very rare. The design is an interesting deviation from the familiar slouched Justice type struck 1872-79 and 1894-97. It loosely resembles the liberty head used on the gold five pesos of 1872-78 (KM 198).
