This specimen was lot 592 in Áureo y Calicó sale 345 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €1,000 (about US$1,320 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1794. Carlos IV. Guatemala. M. 1 escudo. Primer año de busto propio. Rayas. Muy rara. MBC-. (kingdom of Spain, Charles IV, one escudo of 1794, Guatemala mint, first year of the proper bust, scratches, very rare, about very fine."
Other dates of this type are known (1797, 1801) but all are rare. Guatemala is the rarest mint for colonial gold.
