Sedwick sale 25, lot 125

This specimen was lot 125 in Sedwick sale 25 (Winter Park, FL, May 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Guatemala, bust 2 escudos, Charles III, 1785M, rare. Problem-free XF with muted luster, desirable specimen, typically rare and highly sought like all Guatemala colonial gold." This type was struck at Guatemala 1781, 1783 and 1785 only and all dates are rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.901 fine gold, .196 troy oz ASW, this specimen 6.72 grams.
