This specimen was lot 10474 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $382. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREECE. 5 Lepta, 1851. Lustrous. Brown. UNCIRCULATED." This type is listed for 1851 and 1857 and, like most of the issues of nineteenth century Greece, is scarce. Despite the substantial mintage, this type is scarce in nice condition. There are also copper one, two and ten lepta. King Otto fell foul of the local politicians and was forced to abdicate in 1863.
