This specimen was lot 27704 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $381.88. The catalog description[1] noted, "Othon 10 Lepta 1848, AU58 BN NGC, deep reddish-brown surfaces with no major planchet flaws, rare quality for this crudely produced series." This is a better date of a type struck 1847-57.
Recorded mintage: 1,174,000.
