This specimen was lot 2738 in Stephen Album sale 45 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREECE: George I, 1863-1913, AE 5 lepta, 1869-BB, an attractive mint state example, PCGS graded MS62 BN, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type is listed for 1869-70 and is one of the few issues of nineteenth century Greece that is common altho the 1870 is rare. This product of the Strasbourg mint was accompanied by bronze one lepton, two and ten lepta, all struck to French standards. King George ruled 1863-1913.
Recorded mintage: 23,945,000 for 1869-70, nearly all 1869.
