Stack's Bowers 2026 NYINC sale, lot 47497

This specimen was lot 47497 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 25 Pounds (1/4 Ounce), 2024. Llantrisant Mint. Charles III. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. First day of issue. Britannia & Liberty series." This design was also used on KM 2625 (gold 50 pence), KM 2641 (silver two pounds), KM 2660 (silver five pounds), KM 2672 (gold ten pounds), KM 2694 (gold 100 pounds) and KM 2765 (silver 500 pounds). It was a joint issue with the United States Mint, which struck a silver medal and a gold 100 dollars (KM 804).

Recorded mintage: 760.

Specification: 7.8 g, 0.999 fine gold, 22 mm diameter, reeded edge, 0.250 troy oz gold, designed by Martin Jennings, Gordon Summers and Joe Menna.
