This specimen was lot 44707 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign, 2024. Llantrisant Mint. Charles III. CHOICE MINT STATE. Struck to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Comes with original issue box with certificate of authenticity, number 0084." To mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a helmeted "80" was added to the reverse to the left of the date. The sovereign without the privy mark is noted for 2023, 2024 and 2025; later dates may exist.

Recorded mintage: 1,000 with the privy mark per the auctioneers.

Specification: 7.98 g, 0.917 fine gold, 22 mm diameter, reeded edge.
