This specimen was lot 31084 in Heritage auction 3096 (Dallas, TX, March 2021), where it sold for $3,000. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Elizabeth II gold Proof 5 Pounds 1992 PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC. A scarce Proof issue that depicts the third crowned portrait of Elizabeth II, facing right, over deeply mirrored fields that show a delicate haze and minor imperfections. From the Paramount Collection." This type was struck 1985-86, 1990-97 in small numbers for sale to collectors and did not circulate altho some show signs of mishandling.
Recorded mintage: 797 plus 1,250 proofs.
