This specimen was lot 3550 in Goldberg sale 90 (Los Angeles, January 2016), where it sold for $176.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Half Sovereign, 1987. Elizabeth II. Reverse: St. George slaying the dragon. NGC graded Proof 70 Ultra Cameo." This type of 1985-97 was not made in large numbers but these were sold to investors and collectors and not issued for circulation.

Recorded mintage: unknown but all proofs.

Specification: 3.99 g, 0.917 fine gold, 0.1176 ounce AGW.
