This specimen was lot 74167 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $2,160. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 100 Pounds, 1987. Llantrisant Mint. Elizabeth II. PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo. A brilliant Proof with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices." This bullion coin was minted and sold 1987-89 along with half, quarter and tenth ounce sizes. The Britannia is still in production with the reverse changed every few years to stimulate sales.

Recorded mintage: 13,000 proofs.

Specification: 34.05 g, 0.917 fine gold, 1.000 troy oz AGW.
