This specimen was part of lot 34108 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), which sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Elizabeth II 10-Piece Certified Proof Set 1953 PCGS, 1) Farthing - PR65 Red and Brown; 2) 1/2 Penny - PR65 Red and Brown; 3) Penny - PR65 Red and Brown; 4) 3 Pence - PR66; 5) 6 Pence - PR66; 6) Shilling - PR66 Cameo. Scottish Reverse; 7) Shilling - PR65 Cameo, S-4139. English Reverse; 8) Florin - PR66 Cameo, S-4138; 9) 1/2 Crown - PR66 Cameo, S-4137A; 10) Crown - PR65 Cameo, S-4136." The mint began striking separate English and Scottish reverses for the shilling in 1937 and this practice was continued for the new reign in 1953. The obverse legend was revised in 1954 and the shilling was terminated in 1970.

Recorded mintage: 20,664,000 + 40,000 proofs.

Specification: 5.65 g, copper-nickel, 23.5 mm diameter.
