Steve Album sale 54, lot 2685

This specimen was lot 2685 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN: George V, 1910-1936, AE halfpenny, 1911, a superb example, PCGS graded MS65 RD." This half penny was introduced on the accession of George V in 1911 and retained the Britannia reverse first used in 1860. Persistent striking problems caused modifications to the bust in 1925 and again in 1928 tho all the circulating denominations were similarly afflicted. This is a common date.
