This specimen was lot 70168 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 1/2 Penny, 1911. London Mint. NGC MS-63 RB. First year of issue. Light toning, some darker areas on the obverse. Considerable mint red, especially on the reverse." The type was struck 1911-36 at London (shown here), Calcutta, Melbourne, Sydney and Heaton. The Heaton Mint produced this type 1912 and 1914-15 only.

Recorded mintage: 2,832,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: 5.67 g, bronze, 25.5 mm diameter.
