This specimen was lot 44695 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, 1909. London Mint. NGC AU-58. A Shilling with decent strike, abundant field luster, and traces of almond toning in the peripheries." This type was struck 1902-10 in substantial numbers but nice specimens are scarce. This is a better date.

Recorded mintage: 5,665,000.

Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, .168 troy oz ASW, 23.5 mm diameter.
