This specimen was lot 4752 in Goldberg sale 74 (Los Angeles, June 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Shilling, 1908. Edward VII. Lustrous and free from any abrasions. Rare. NGC graded AU-58." This type was struck 1902-10 in substantial numbers but nice specimens are scarce. This is not a common date.
Recorded mintage: 3,807,000.
Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, .168 troy oz ASW, 23.5 mm diameter.
