This specimen was lot 36045 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, 1878. London Mint. Victoria. NGC MS-64." This type was struck 1867-79 as part of the young head type first struck in 1838. This date comes with die numbers (die 64 in this case).
Recorded mintage: 3,127,000.
Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, 23.6 mm diameter.
