This specimen was lot 74818 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $1,260. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1-1/2 Pence, 1870. London Mint. Victoria. PCGS PROOF-50. An example of this proof issue that circulated lightly. Icy blue toning overlays darker gray patina on still-reflective surfaces. An attractive, diminutive issue." This three-halfpence was struck for circulation in Jamaica and Ceylon 1838-43 and 1860-62. The denomination never appeared in Maundy sets and has not been struck since. This is a proof only date.

Specification: 0.70 g, 0.925 fine silver, 12 mm diameter.
