This specimen was lot 44655 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $228. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 6 Pence, 1859. London Mint. Victoria. NGC MS-64. Deep russet and apricot toning with lighter "pull away" areas around the letters, with pretensions to a higher grade. The reverse is strongly clashed." This type was struck 1838-66 in large quantities with a slightly modified obverse continuing until 1887.

Recorded mintage: 4,689,000 including 1859/8.

Specification: 2.82 g, 0.925 fine silver, 19.3 mm diameter.
