This specimen was lot 71175 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, 1848/6. London Mint. Victoria. PCGS AU-55. Proving a fully argent display, this attractive piece is certain to captivate the legions of British collectors with its pattern of only light wear. Slightly weak overdate, but still evidence of the overpunched is visible under magnification." This type was struck 1838-66 in large quantities with a slightly modified obverse continuing until 1887. All the specimens known of this year are the overdate.

Recorded mintage: 1,041,000, a better date.

Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, .168 troy oz ASW.
