This specimen was lot 10433 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $546. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 6 Pence, 1839. PCGS PROOF-64 Secure Holder. Attractive, deep tone." This type was struck 1838-66 in large quantities with a slightly modified obverse continuing until 1887.
Recorded mintage: 3,311,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 2.82 g, .925 silver, .084 troy oz ASW.
