This specimen was lot 3197 in Goldberg sale 87 (Los Angeles, September 2015), where it sold for $129.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. 1 ½ Pence, 1839. Victoria. Gem Uncirculated. A rather special example of this diminutive coin. Well struck with a delightful golden-grey toning. NGC graded MS-65." This three-halfpence was struck for circulation in Jamaica and Ceylon 1838-43 and 1860-62. The denomination never appeared in Maundy sets and has not been struck since.
