This specimen was lot 30798 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: William IV gold Sovereign 1833 MS61 NGC. Some slight doubling to the reverse, visible within the date. Pleasing for its assigned grade with soft cartwheel luster and surprisingly clear surfaces." This type is listed for 1831-37 and is expensive despite the substantial mintage.

Recorded mintage: 1,225,000, a better date.

Specification: 7.98 g, 0.917 fine gold, .235 troy oz AGW.
