This specimen was lot 24179 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $5,287.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "William IV gold Half Sovereign 1834, small flan, MS64 NGC, a lovely choice coin with a sharp strike and super color." This type is listed for 1834-37 and is expensive despite the substantial mintage.
