This specimen was lot 40152 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $1,380. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Sovereign, 1817. NGC MS-64." George III half sovereigns are listed for 1817, 1818 and 1820 with 1817 being the most common.
Recorded mintage: 2,080,000 plus a few proofs.
