This specimen was lot 2237 in Goldberg sale 81 (Los Angeles, September 2014), where it sold for $352.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Four Pence, 1776. George III. Beautifully toned high grade coin issued in the year of American Independence! This year rare in top sta[t]es of preservation. NGC graded MS-63." This type is listed for 1763-86 and has a fairly low catalog value. The four pence today appears only in Maundy sets.
