This specimen was lot 24953 in Heritage sale 3015 (Long Beach, September 2011), where it sold for $1,150. The catalog description[1] noted, "George III gold Guinea 1775, 4th Bust, Rose style, AU53 PCGS, bold strike, loads of luster, most pleasing gold toning." This type, one of several used during George's long reign, is noted for 1774-86.

Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.

Specification: 8.35 g, 0.917 fine gold, .246 troy oz AGW.
