This specimen was lot 1279 in Sincona sale 79 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 6,750 CHF (about US$8,090 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN | Königreich, George II. 1727-1760. Guinea 1753, London. Old laureate head. NGC MS61." This bust was used on the guinea 1747-60. It is likely the most common guinea of George II. Guineas were superseded by sovereigns during the reform of 1817.
