This specimen was lot 227 in Sincona sale 75 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 8,500 CHF (about US$10,317 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Grossbritannien | Königreich. George II. 1727-1760. 2 Guineas 1753, London. Old laureate head. NGC AU55." This type was struck 1748 and 1753 and both dates are rare. George III did not issue two guineas so this is the last of the denomination.
