This specimen was lot 1758 in Sincona sale 82 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 1,000 CHF (about US$1,338 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "George II. 1727-1760. Guinea 1741/39, London. Middle-aged head. Selten (Rare). NGC VF Details. Aus Fassung (Removed from jewelry." The guineas of George II come in many varieties and this one, struck 1739-43, is the fourth. All dates are scarce and all 1741 guineas are overdates.
