This specimen was lot 71314 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Penny, 1724. London Mint. George I. PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. Rather wholesome and with solid detail remaining, this original specimen yields great appeal along with deep chocolate brown surfaces." The type is listed for 1719-24 and was the second half penny issued since 1701, none being minted during Anne's reign.
